Risk management in Quantower
Organize per-trade risk, position sizing and session limits in your Quantower and TraderPilot workflow.
Trade with Quantower and copy trades from the TraderPilot panel. Installation follows the same process as NinjaTrader.
Explore the panelDefine risk before submitting an order
Start with your risk budget and stop distance. Theoretical risk per contract is the distance in ticks multiplied by tick value. Position sizing should also account for commissions and potential slippage. A stop does not guarantee an execution price.
Distinguish account, connection and instrument
With multiple connections, check which connection each account and symbol belongs to. Quantower API documentation separates data by connection. An instrument or account name alone may not identify the intended destination.
Turn your rules into validation criteria
Document your session limit, maximum exposure and conditions for stopping trading. Review with TraderPilot which rules are covered by the available scope for your setup. A written limit does not establish automatic blocking or position closing.
Check behavior during incidents
In simulation, review rejections, pending orders, partial closes and disconnects for the configured workflow. Keep a way to inspect positions and intervene from the platform. Check broker or prop firm rules directly with your provider.
